One day at a time!

Every moment in our daily life gives us an instance which leaves an everlasting impression in our minds. While some incidents are actually thought-provoking and some just out-of-the-blue mind jerking.
I don’t know which one this is or if it really can be categorised in any! But, here it goes!
Two days earlier, I saw a moth flying aimlessly or rather joyously in my washroom. Sitting on the tap, the mirror or the cloth stand, it moved all over.
I thought of cleaning the washroom mirror. While I was throwing water on the mirror to clean it, the moth came and sat on it. I didn’t want to bother it so I took a cloth and cleaned the area around instead. And it sat there unmoved. At peace. All night.
A sense of happiness prevailed since I did not harm it and just let it be.
The next morning, I saw it upside down near the drain. And since then I’ve been feeling kind of strange. I couldn’t have done anything. A moth lives only for a day. No yesterday to dwell upon, no future to think of. Only present, to live! Just. One. Day.
The incident just made me realise that amidst all this chaos in the world right now, the present is all we have. The happiness is not linked with anything, anyone but YOU! It’s within. Now is the time to care, to love, to nurture, to grow! Make today matter, tomorrow will take care of itself. Make the present better, nobody has seen the future. Make this second count, you never know what next minute holds for you. Just breathe, stay safe and live. Live every moment, every second. To the fullest.

One day at a time!
